Yacht Claims Limited, Marine Loss Adjusters, Consultants and Surveyors was formed by Ray Johnston a highly qualified Marine Surveyor with wide ranging expertise.

Our expertise extends from traditional timber vessels, production FRP sailing and motor yachts, steel and aluminium vessels, modern high tech composite racing yachts and large complex sailing cruisers and motor yachts.

As a company we can offer pre-purchase condition surveys, insurance surveys, valuation surveys as well as damage surveys for Underwriters.

A major part of our work is as Nominated Surveyors of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) which enables us to conduct MCA Codes of Compliance Examinations for Small Commercial Vessels, as well as Tonnage Measurement Surveys for British Registration.

We are also often called upon to provide expert evidence in litigation cases for private individuals as well as insurance companies. With a considerable background within the Police Service we are able to take detailed witness statements and provide expert evidence reports in personal injury claims, as well as liability and damage claims. 

Our head office is based in the South East at Ramsgate, Kent although we operate throughout the entire UK, Europe and beyond.

We also have an office in Southern Spain near Marbella, Malaga, and handle many assignments throughout the Mediterranean coast of Spain and the Balearics.  

Located close to airports and the Channel Tunnel we often travel throughout Europe, and worldwide. We have local knowledge of the many marinas in France, Italy, Portugal and Spain. We also have a network of associate surveyors throughout the World.

We are qualified full surveyor members of the Yacht Brokers, Designers and Surveyors Association (YDSA), the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors (SAMS) and the International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI) and are actively involved with these associations.
